Germany's teenage striker Lennart Karl has been ruled out of the summer World Cup due to an adductor injury sustained during training.

The German Football Association (DFB) confirmed the 18-year-old suffered the injury on Friday and was sent to the hospital. Karl, who has impressed with Bayern Munich this season, was in contention for a starting spot after scoring an assist in Germany's recent 4-0 win over Finland.
